Center’s Objectives:
  • Develop the university’s scientific research strategy.
  • Contribute to providing adequate funding to encourage scientific research (equipment, establishing centers of excellence, granting publication rewards, scientific publication support, conference attendance support, etc.).
  • Form research clusters for collaborative research and producing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies.
  • Establish a scientific equipment bank at Sinai University.
  • Encourage researchers and innovators and connect them with specialized companies to transfer technology and turn their innovations into economic products.
  • Draft and activate memorandums of understanding between the university, other universities, research centers, and beneficiary entities.
  • Submit research project proposals for funding from local and international funding bodies.
  • Share successful research experiences with university faculty to spread the benefits.
  • Utilize the university’s applied research outputs and invest them in serving the community through the benefits of Science, Technology, and Innovation Incentives Law No. 23 of 2018 and its executive regulations.
Key Performance Indicators of the Center:
  • Number of research papers published in international indexed journals concerned with achieving sustainable development goals.
  • Number of research papers published in Q1 & Q2 journals.
  • Number of patents and knowledge models submitted for examination.
  • Number of funded research projects and funding value.
  • Average relative weight of citations in all university’s specializations (Field-Weighted Citation Impact, FWCI).
  • Average number of citations per university’s research paper (Average number of citations per publication).
  • Number of new memoranda of understanding with other universities, scientific research centers, and beneficiary agencies.
  • Number of workshops for developing the scientific research strategy and the number of participants.
  • Increase in the budget for scientific research support to develop the science, technology, and innovation system.
  • Proposal to establish an office for “Supporting Innovation and Technology Transfer and Marketing” at the university.
Proposal for Establishing a Specialized Office:

Here is a proposal for submitting an application to establish a specialized office that focuses on supporting innovation, technology transfer, and marketing. The aim of the office is to enhance innovation, facilitate technology transfer, and support marketing efforts in various research and industrial fields. The proposed office will consist of the following components:

  • Technology Transfer Office (TTO) – responsible for facilitating the transfer of technologies to relevant industries and stakeholders.
  • Grant and International Cooperation Office (GICO) – tasked with monitoring research projects, identifying funding opportunities, and fostering international collaborations.
  • Technology Innovation Support Center (TISC) – dedicated to supporting innovation through intellectual property management and patent applications.
General Objectives of the Office for “Supporting Innovation and Technology Transfer and Marketing”:
  • Spreading the culture of innovation and strengthening trust between scientific research and development in all its axes with the aim of increasing production rates.
  • Monitoring development requirements and collecting challenges with the aim of deepening and localizing local manufacturing.
  • Field follow-up of the implementation of research projects at various stages and working to support them from local and foreign funding bodies.
  • Marketing scientific research results and presenting their results to various agencies within the framework of supporting entrepreneurship.
