Sinai University Concludes “Innov Egypt” Course on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Arish Branch

Under generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University; Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs at the Arish Branch; and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sharaf Eldin, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, the Faculty has concluded the “Innov Egypt” course on innovation and entrepreneurship, organized in cooperation with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The course was offered to university students as a training grant.

Eng. Akram Medhat, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty and a certified Training of Trainers (TOT) trainer accredited by TIEC, delivered the first two days of the course in person on Wednesday, 7 October, and Thursday, 8 October 2026, in Hall F229, Building F. The sessions were attended by more than 60 students from the Faculties of Information Technology and Computer Science, Engineering, and Pharmacy.

The training sessions covered a range of important topics, including the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship, the innovation adoption curve, emerging technologies, and design thinking. They also featured interactive practical activities focusing on brainstorming and teamwork.

A particularly engaging practical challenge was organized during the course. Each team was tasked with designing its own product within a specified time, then marketing and actually selling it to visitors at SAMA El-Arish Village. This hands-on experience enabled students to test their ideas, transform them into marketable products, and develop their innovation, communication, and teamwork skills.

The students subsequently completed an additional four days of online training in cooperation with TIEC, allowing them to further explore the course topics and strengthen their knowledge and skills in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Dalia Gamal, TIEC Program Manager at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, praised the success of the course and expressed her appreciation to Sinai University for hosting the program. She also commended the fruitful cooperation and called for the program to be offered again in the future.

This initiative reflects Sinai University’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among its students, bridging academic knowledge with practical application, and equipping them with the skills needed to transform creative ideas into viable projects and marketable products. These efforts aim to enhance students’ competitiveness and support Egypt’s vision of building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.
