The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sinai University Organizes a Scientific Visit for STEM Students in Arish

Under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid Abdo, Vice President of the University at the Arish branch, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Bassiouny, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Amin, Vice Dean of the Faculty, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a distinguished scientific visit for students of STEM schools (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This initiative comes as part of efforts to support applied learning and strengthen the connection between theoretical study and practical reality, and was held on Monday, March 30, 2026.

The visit program included a variety of scientific activities. It began with an introductory session on energy systems, followed by an overview of the solar and wind power stations within the university campus. The visit also featured a tour of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering laboratories, where students were introduced to the latest equipment and engineering applications.

In addition, the students visited the control unit and the electrical generators room, where the operation mechanisms of systems and energy management were explained in a practical manner, enhancing their understanding of real-world engineering applications.

The visit concluded with an open discussion session, during which students’ questions were addressed and their scientific and future interests were discussed.

The faculty administration emphasized that this visit is part of the university’s plan to enhance its community role and support talented students by providing an applied learning environment that contributes to developing innovation and scientific thinking skills.

The students, in turn, expressed their happiness with this experience, noting that it provided them with a unique opportunity to understand energy systems and engineering applications in a practical and direct way.

Sinai University continues its efforts to organize such scientific events, contributing to the preparation of a distinguished generation capable of keeping pace with modern technological advancements.
