PHOcus 2025 Conference

Under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdo, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Arish Branch, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lotfy Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy,  Prof. Dr. Mostafa Hegazy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Dr. Mo’men Salem, the academic advisor for EPSF-Sinai, The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation at Sinai University (EPSF-Sinai) organized the PHOcus Conference from 20 to 22  April 2025at Sinai University – Arish Branch. This year, the conference was held under the theme “Gastrointestinal Cancers.”

The conference addressed a highly important medical topic, shedding light on gastrointestinal tumors through five specialized scientific sessions presented by a group of distinguished doctors and experts. In addition, two practical workshops were conducted to provide attendees with hands-on training and clinical insights related to the field.

The event witnessed great engagement from students and faculty members, serving as an educational and awareness-raising platform that helped enhance the understanding of healthcare students on one of the most critical medical issues.

The PHOcus Conference is an annual scientific event organized by EPSF-Sinai at Sinai University – Arish Branch, with a mission to raise awareness and deepen understanding of critical medical issues. The 2025 edition, held from April 20th to 22nd, was dedicated to the theme of Gastrointestinal (GIT) Cancers—a topic often overlooked despite its significance.

The aim of this year’s conference was to educate students and healthcare professionals about the importance and complexity of GIT cancers, shedding light on the medical, nutritional, and pharmacological aspects involved in diagnosis and treatment.

The event witnessed an impressive turnout of around 300 attendees, including Vice President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Vice Dean, department heads, academic staff and students.

The scientific content was delivered through five major sessions and two interactive workshops, led by distinguished medical professionals. Highlights included:

  • Role of Probiotics and Microbiota in Cancer Therapy
