Scientific Visit to the Citadel of Salah El-Din Al-Ayyubi – Cairo

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdo, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to linking theoretical study with practical application while promoting students’ cultural and archaeological awareness, a scientific and cultural field trip was organized on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, to the Citadel of Salah El-Din Al-Ayyubi in Cairo.

During the visit, the students enjoyed an educational and cultural tour through the corridors of the citadel, exploring the fragrance of history and the beauty of Islamic architecture. They learned about the citadel’s most significant landmarks, including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the walls and towers, the Military Museum, and the Egyptian Police Museum, gaining insights into the unique architectural style that combines authenticity with refined Islamic art.

The visit also included a tour of Al-Muizz li-Din Allah Al-Fatimi Street, one of the most remarkable testimonies to the grandeur of Islamic architecture in historic Cairo. The students enjoyed viewing the magnificent monuments—such as schools, minarets, and historic houses—and captured memorable photos in an atmosphere rich with heritage, glory, and civilization.
