InnovEgypt Course

Under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Gehan Fekry, President of Sinai University, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdu, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Arish Branch, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sharaf, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, Sinai University – Arish Branch, the activities of the “InnovEgypt” course were held in cooperation with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The course was offered as a grant to university students on Wednesday and Thursday, October 1 and 2, 2025.

The workshop began with an introduction emphasizing the importance of the program and its relevance to the job market. The course aimed to develop students’ personal skills and stimulate creativity through brainstorming, teamwork, and collaboration exercises.

The first day included attendance instructions, a general introduction to the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship, an explanation of the innovation adoption curve, and practical student exercises. Participants were divided into groups and engaged in team-building games, followed by preparatory tasks for the next day.

The second day focused on defining the concept of technology and presenting the latest global advancements in technology, communications, and information fields, with a special emphasis on emerging technologies up to 2024. The day also included team presentations based on the first day’s assignments, an introduction to design thinking concepts, hands-on training with examples and principles, clarification of tasks for Friday, and discussions planned for Saturday’s session. The day concluded with a practical exercise where students designed their own team products, attempted to market and sell them, and successfully sold their creations to visitors at Sama Al-Arish Village. The day ended with a group photo.

The “InnovEgypt” course concluded successfully, achieving its goals of introducing students to various activities, enhancing their performance, and strengthening their innovation mindset. The college administration received an official report from Dr. Dalia Gamal, Director of the TIEC Program, who praised the efforts exerted, thanked the university for hosting the event, and expressed interest in repeating the experience in the future.
