International Festival of Drums and Traditional Arts

The Kinetic Drama group at Sinai University, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to 25 countries, participated in the International Festival of Drums and Traditional Arts in its eleventh edition under the patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Ministry of Culture, during the period from Sunday 5/26/2024 until Saturday 1/6/2024 in Cairo in various places, namely the Northern Wall Theater next to the Victory Gate – the Hanager Square at the Opera – the Cultural Park in Al-Hawd Al-Marsoud – the Children’s Center for Civilization and Creativity (Children’s Museum) in Heliopolis, Beit Al-Sinara in Sayyida Zeinab.

The university’s participants presented a presentation on the Sinai heritage, “Sinai Dabke,” and it received a huge response from the attendees. It is noted that the festival is a journey through the different cultures of the world, and no civilization is devoid of the language of drums in its popular heritage, as this heritage is evoked and presented in renewed artistic forms. The festival is also a unique festival that reflects Egypt’s leadership throughout history and its openness to others, and emphasizes the value of the human being and the importance of his connection to his popular heritage.
